BAIN ADVANCES

JACOBI Bain advanced to the boys’ singles finals with a 6-1, 6-0 semi-final win over Rodrigo Diaz of Honduras in the 2015 Honduras Junior Bowl COTECC under-14 event. Bain will play the boys’ singles finals today vs Kaeri Hernandez (GUA). Bain also teamed up with Kaeri Hernandez to play in the boys under-14 doubles yesterday. However, no scores were available.

CITY BOWLING

LEAGUE

TOP scorers in the City Bowling League 2015-2016 season, which opened Monday night, was Lee Davis of the Ten Back Strikers with a 227 second game along with a 606 high three game set. Runner-up MVP was Steve Bonaby of Island Game Strokers with a 597 second high set. Alfred Burrows blasted the pins for a huge 233 high game of the evening.

The ladies’ MVP was Joy Lockhart of Coca Cola Avengers with a 207 second high game and a 562 high set. She was followed by Janice Hoyte of Ten Back Strikers with a 224 high game and a 559 second high set. Team scores for the evening were as follows:

Duce City E and Watercoolers 3, Reach Crusaders 0; Topic Rolling Stones 2, Giga Tech 1; TK Falcons 2, Fred & Company 1; Coca Cola Avengers 2, Telco Enterprises 1; Ten Back Strickers 2, Carib Construction 1; Checkers Cafe 3, BEC Shockers 0; Island Game Strokers 2, Bahamasair Flyers 1.

JBLN

REGISTRATION

THE Junior Baseball League of Nassau announces that registration for the 2016 season for new and returning players is open for on-line registration on their website - www.jblnbaseball.com. The JBLN pre-season is slated to run November 11 to December 13. The 2016 season is set to start on January 13 with opening day ceremonies on Saturday, January 16. Registration will close at 2pm on Saturday, September 26. There will be registration payment and confirmation days at the JBLN fields 10am to 2pm on Saturdays, September 12, 19 and 26. Tryouts will be held 11am to 1pm on Saturday, October 3 and the 2016 draft will follow at 1pm at the baseball fields.

DARTS MEETING

THE Nassau Darts Association has announced that its annual general meeting is scheduled for 7:30pm tonight at Tailgaters on East Bay Street.

After the meeting, the opening of registration follows at 8pm by the commencement of the AGM. All club members are asked to attend and be on time as important matters will be discussed.
