KENRED Dorsett, pictured, left The Bahamas yesterday to join other Caribbean environment ministers in St Lucia for discussions ahead of the United Nations Climate Change conference in Paris, France, in December.
The St Lucia gathering, hosted by the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology in conjunction with the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre and High Level Support Mechanism, has three aims: to establish coherence among negotiators on the critical issues in the negotiations toward a new climate change agreement in Paris; to appraise the areas of convergence and divergence in the ongoing climate change negotiations; and prepare ministers for a meeting of the Alliance of Small Island States in New York later this month.
Mr Dorsett is expected back in the country this weekend.
