A JUDGE told one of three men awaiting trial concerning the armed robbery of Deputy Prime Minister Philip “Brave” Davis that his bail would be revoked if he did not appear for a status hearing in three weeks.

Jeffrey King appeared before Justice Vera Watkins seeking to have an electronic monitoring device removed from his ankle. He was outfitted with the device as one of the conditions for a $10,000 bond he received ahead of his May 2016 trial.

Justice Watkins told the man she was “minded” to revoke his bail considering he had missed at least three hearings concerning his case since being granted bail in May of this year.

King attributed his absence to being hospitalised because of kidney treatment and an allergic reaction to medication he received in hospital.

Justice Watkins said she would not remove the monitoring bracelet and told him that bail would be revoked if he did not appear for a status hearing on October 20.

King, 27, Marc McCartney, 21, Tyrone Knowles, 25, are accused of robbing Mr Davis – who was acting prime minister at the time – of jewellery worth $93,000, a jewellery box worth $200, Baraka gold jewellery worth $700, an opal top wallet worth $450, a Royal Bank credit card and a driver’s licence worth $15.

The three are further accused of robbing Mr Davis’ wife, Ann Marie Davis, of $2,953, and Wilberforce Seymour of $10.

The men had a tentative trial date for July 6 but the matter could not proceed. They will be tried on May 2, 2016.
