POLICE have released the identities of two of the country’s latest murder victims.
The man who was shot in Fox Hill Tuesday night has been identified as Percy Sawyer Jr, 32, of Johnson Road.
Sawyer died in hospital around 5am Wednesday. He was shot by a gunman who approached him while he was playing a game of checkers, police said.
The man who was pronounced dead in the parking lot of the Police Traffic Division on Wednesday night has been identified as Akeem Raheem Brennen, 23, of Cowpen Road. Brennen and another man were shot while sitting in a car at a traffic light on Robinson Road shortly before 7pm on Wednesday.
The driver headed to the police station for assistance.
He was taken to hospital but Brennen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Their deaths pushed the country’s homicide count to 39 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.
