NPWBA JUNIOR

DIVISION

FOLLOWING regular season play for the junior division of the New Providence Women’s Basketball Association, the Family Guardian Cheetahs have emerged as the winners of the regular season with a perfect 7-0 win/loss record.

The NPWBA will complete their 2015/16 season when the junior division enters a five-team double elimination style championship round with the winner taking it all.

The championship round will be played over the next two Saturdays, beginning on April 16 and climaxing with a crowned champion on April 23. All games will be played at the DW Davis Gymnasium, starting at 5pm.

The teams include the Water and Sewerage Operators, Consolidated Water Truckers, MIYA Cybot Princesses, Family Guardian Cheetahs and the Athletic Bahamas.

The standings

are as follows:

Family Guardian Cheetahs 7-0; MIYA Cybot Princesses 4-3; Athletic Bahamas 3-4; Consolidated Water 2-4 and Water and Sewerage Operatos 1-5.

CORRECTION

WRONG DATE

IT was incorrectly stated that the late Natasha Newbold was 54.

Newbold, the former outstanding powerlifter and bodybuildier, was actually 52. The Tribune apologises for the error.
