REVTV steps up its game for Rio Olympics coverage

WHEN the 2016 Rio Olympic Games officially kick off tonight, REVTV customers will have the choice of watching the opening festivities and subsequent competitions on their televisions, computers or from their smartphones and tablets.

REV will bring varied Olympics coverage to its REVTV customers via NBC on channel 206, CBC on channel 208, ZNS on channel 211 and ESPN Caribbean on channel 700. Additionally, REVTV customers will have access to the ESPN coverage of the Olympic games from any computer or mobile device through the online streaming service ESPN Play, at no added charge.

“We’re thrilled to be delivering multi-platform coverage to our REVTV customers during the 2016 Rio games,” REV Vice President of Marketing David Burrows said. “This year, we’re bringing enhanced coverage to fans, no matter their favourite sports or athletes. With such varied coverage and multiple ways to watch, fans won’t have to worry about missing those highly-anticipated match-ups.”

Mr Burrows added that REVTV customers would get full coverage of the 2016 Olympics and noted that ESPN Caribbean has committed to delivering over 200 hours of original content specifically for its viewers in the Caribbean. The channel will broadcast 12-plus hours of daily coverage, which will simulcast via the ESPN Play app.

“With ESPN Caribbean airing content customised for its Caribbean viewers, we’re going to see greater focus on those familiar faces from the Bahamas, including Shaunae Miller, our Golden Knights - Chris Brown, Michael Mathieu, Ramon Miller, and Demetrius Pinder - along with a number of national sports stars,” Mr Burrows said.

“REVTV customers are truly going to get a front row seat to all the action in Rio over the next two weeks while enjoying the freedom to access the content they want, however they want.”

This year’s Bahamian Olympic team is the largest ever to represent the country in the games with a total of 32 athletes.

The team features athletes who will compete in track and field events, swimming and, for the first time ever, rowing.

Customers can visit the REV Facebook page and website cablebahamas.com/rio for further information and official Olympic Games schedule.
