AN adult male relative is in custody assisting police with their investigations into the stabbing death of a woman early on Monday in Stapledon Gardens.
According to reports, shortly after 3am, police received a report that a woman had been found dead at her home at Turnquest Avenue. When responding officers arrived, they found the lifeless body of a woman who had been stabbed. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene.
Moments later police arrested a male resident of the home walking in the area. He is assisting police with investigations into this incident.
The murder is the 103rd for the year, according to The Tribune's records.

With at least 5 months to go before election the murder count under the current government has surpassed that of the FNM's 5 year term. and, if current trends continue, at least another 25 murders can be expected before elections. And while the count has decreased this year over last year, the trend is still unsettling.
