FLASH-like reflexes and intense competition were on display when the First Bahamas Branch of Toastmasters Club 1600 held its 35th annual JC Sweeting Table Tennis Tournament at the YWCA Hall on Dolphin Drive.

Table tennis action went back and forth as competitors battled for a top prize and a year’s worth of bragging rights at the family fun day, a much anticipated social event on the club’s calendar.

In the children’s division, Joshua Sweeting captured gold. Mikia Cooper finished top in the ladies’ division.

In the Friends of Toastmasters category, Patrick Colebrook posted a first place finish while Clement Foster successfully defended his crown in the past presidents’ division.

Winners of Toastmasters Division A and B were Godfrey Springer and Edward Thurston, respectively.

The tournament is named after a well-respected member of the club which is the first branch of Toastmasters to be established in The Bahamas, a club that enhances leadership and communication skills. Toastmasters Club 1600 meets 8pm Thursdays at Superclub Breezes.
