Road Traffic failure

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Kindly allow me space in your columns to lodge a complaint with the Road Traffic Department as their phone rang unanswered this morning.

On Saturday after lunch, I was driving around the Hilton bend heading into town when jitney #270 swerved in front of me from the other lane, almost smashing into my car and just missing the passenger, a friend from New York.

The encounter was so close the jitney driver stopped while a passenger jumped outside to see if my car had been hit. The lady driver behind me pulled up and shouted at me to get the licence number and make a report to the Road Traffic Department. That’s how close it was.

The driver apologised and said he didn’t see me. Then a few seconds later, the same jitney dangerously swerved in front of another vehicle, cutting over to the other side of Bay Street and up a side street.

The Road Traffic Department needs to deal with this menace.

Please withhold my name. Who knows what will happen to me if I print it.
