Resorts World Bimini donates to local clinic

BIMINI’S primary health care facility will soon be better equipped to meet the needs of the island’s residents and visitors thanks to a donation by Resorts World Bimini.

The resort donated more than $16,000 worth of equipment and supplies to the Bimini Community Clinic, a gift which medical professionals have said will go a long way in enabling them to deliver quality health care to the island.

“On behalf of the public health care team here in Bimini, I am delighted to accept this gift of essential items for the clinic,” said Dr Keysha Smith. “These items will go a long way in providing services which we might not have been able to provide from our own resources. Naturally, we would like on behalf of the Department of Public Health and the Ministry of Health to thank Resorts World Bimini for this gesture.”

Among the items being donated to the clinic are equipment and supplies for blood pressure monitoring, oxygen saturation, fetal monitoring, a fetal dropper, vital signs monitoring, a suction machine, HIV testing, wall mount diagnostics, glucose level testing, an ECG machine, and fecal hemocult.

Resorts World Bimini Director of Public Affairs Michelle Malcolm said the donation further cements the resort’s commitment to partnering with the community.

“As the population and number of visitors to the island increases, so too will the medical needs,” she said. “By donating these items to the community clinic, we are helping to ensure that the residents of Bimini and visitors receive the very best health care possible.”
