EDITOR, The Tribune
My attention is again drawn to the journalism terrorism of Eileen Dupuch Carron, the Publisher/Editor of The Tribune in her editorial of Tuesday, February 16, 2016 titled “Bradley Roberts questions editor’s opinion of FNM Leader”.
Notwithstanding, the fact that this editorial seeks to answer a statement I issued to the Bahamian Print and Electronic Media for publication and broadcast and that Mrs Carron acknowledges as such in her editorial; my statement has never been published in The Tribune.
Rather, using the most unethical of journalistic malpractice, Mrs Carron chose to dissect my statement and use certain parts therein to form the basis of her jaundiced editorial (See editorial of Feb 16 – Bradley Roberts questions editor’s opinion of FNM leader).
I am thankful for the power of the stretch of Social Media, which allowed my statement to be fully published for the edification of Bahamians and others everywhere.
My statement was issued on 14th February 2016 and was a direct response to an earlier editorial in The Tribune dated the 10th February 2016 and titled “FNM Party convention urgent - must be held within the month” in which Mrs. Carron referred to Dr Hubert Minnis, the embattled Leader of the FNM, as a “mystery wrapped up in an enigma”.
I did not issue that statement to hold a brief for Dr Minnis, who it appears has wisely chosen to ignore Mrs Carron.
Moreso, I wanted to show the Bahamian people how editors like Mrs Carron use the power of the pen and the pages of their newspaper to run dangerous rear guard actions against progressive and legitimate movements and ideas.
The PLP, from its birth has suffered from the vitriolic and stubborn revisionism of The Tribune. I wanted to show the Bahamian people that every scintilla of every line in whatever Mrs Carron writes should be followed with a box of salt as the truth is not in her inkwell.
As a seasoned politician and as a Bahamian nationalist I refuse to allow my personal politics to silence me from railing against what I perceive to be an organised and well-orchestrated plan by special forces in the FNM to dismiss the very planks of a solid democracy which Mrs Carron has the gall and nerve to claim she adheres to.
After all, Dr Minnis was elected as his party Leader in two separate conventions and won handsomely each time. The fact that the defeated side suffers from “count it again fever” brought on by their urge to prop up former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham, should be no excuse.
If we are to take Mrs Carron at her own words in which she professes to have a right as a Bahamian to comment on the situation in the FNM , I remind her that the tone of her editorial are not advisory. They are dogmatic, dictatorial, insensitive and mean. She seems to take a delight in being biggity to borrow Bahamian vernacular.
She demands by the very headline of the Editorial that the FNM MUST hold a convention within this month. Who gave her any such authority? It’s all in her mind and warped sense of entitlement in FNM politics.
I close by using a favourite phrase from Sir Etienne Dupuch, which his daughter Mrs Carron would do well to adhere to when next she takes out her pen and dips it into her ink of lies and half-truths, and that is “paper will sit still and lead any fool write on it”.
As I don’t expect Mrs Carron to publish this statement, I do hope that my comments would soothe her as she attempts to direct the politics of this country from her comfortable armchair on the Eastern Road as the “journalistic terrorist of Shirley Street”.

I don't know why the Editor even entertains this fool. I think he worked for Sir Stafford who may have told him once or twice about the still paper.

Mr. Roberts, please stop with this nonsense. No member of the PLP can ever talk about "truth". This word is foreign to your political organization. But speaking of truth, if it was not for the Tribune, the Bahamian people would never have been able to read all the truths about your lousy, corrupt party. And please do not address the Bahamian people as if you care for them, because you don't. The truth is, the the only way this country can really move forward, is when you and your old colleagues in the PLP retire in peace and let younger and much smarter minds take over. Finally, have you ever heard of the saying, "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear"? Well let me just say that it does not matter how much you write these polished and refined words: To most Bahamians, you are still an empty barrel that makes noise.

YOU GOTTA LOVE THIS MAN, I am referring to BRADLEY ROBERTS. Few as he has such courage, boldness and audacity!!! He can comment intimately on FNM internal politics but Mrs Carron should be quiet. Come on man... you'll have got to join me in sharing this love; and not for hate, for amusement, otherwise, share pity. Look at this quote from Mr. Lover taken from his letter noted above:

Mr. Roberts continued...

Mrs Carrons' editorial is cited by, of all person, Mr. Roberts as "dogmatic, dictatorial, insensitive and mean. She seems to take a delight in being biggity to borrow Bahamian vernacular".
Come on man... this is sensationally stimulating to say the least. Anyway, before I rupture in this charismatic delight, let me say this one fact that is not implicit but is blatantly clear and obvious... it comes through in almost every line of Mr. Roberts' letter:
"THE PROGRESSIVE LIBERAL PARTY (PLP) WOULD LIKE VERY MUCH FOR 'HUBERT A. MINNIS' TO BE THE LEADER OF THE FREE NATIONAL MOVEMENT (FNM) GOING INTO THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION. PLEASE, FNM SUPPORTERS, DO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUEST. THANK YOU, Bradley Roberts, PLP National Chairman."
I sooooo love this man... I cannot see why anyone else would not want to either. If only to pity him for his bold and audacious way... love him. He can be so stimulating... something like strong coffee, that is..., if you care for some. In any event... WAKE UP FNMs!!!

The PLP also know he cannot win enough seats to take the Government. Bradley is the Chairman. Hopefully Minnis won't even win his seat,

Well monkeedoo, even MonkeeDo sees my point... To this I burrowed a few beats from Paul Simons' song 'Crazy Love' which could end up being the sentiments that may express the thoughts of the eligible voters as of today:
" She says she knows about jokes, This time the joke is on me, Well, I have no opinion about that, And I have no opinion about me.
Somebody could walk into this room... And say your life is on fire... It's all over the evening news, ...All about the fire in your life... On the evening news.

He, Dr. Minnis, is the only one in the room who doesn't realize his life is on fire. And I don't mean in the FNM sense either... it's truly burning down. The episode reminds me of my life just before I went into my own spiral... Everyone sees your oncoming predicament except you. If only we would heed. It's sad... nonetheless... a humble child tastes the grace of God!!!
