Next stop USA for band

THE Urban Renewal Band is looking forward to performing at the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Washington, DC next month.

The band will be making their first trip to the United States this year for the parade on March 6 and has set about raising the required funds for all 88 members to travel.

Recently, Tony Knowles, a local businessman, donated to the band to aid the group’s travel. Superintendent Ricardo Richardson, who is in charge of the band, received the donation at the Fr Marshall Cooper Park, where Urban Renewal’s newly-formed pop band performed to the delight of the crowd.

Under the direction of Inspector Theodore Campbell, the Urban Renewal Pop Band is one of the most exciting performing groups around with a wide variety of music.

On February 27, at the Fr Marshall Cooper Park in Mason’s Addition, the Urban Renewal Band will be performing free from 8pm until midnight and will have food and drinks on sale to help them in raising funds towards their travel.
