Action, not bickering

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I was dismayed to read your article of February 24th “Minnis lacks support of white Bahamians”. It is unfortunate that attorney Michael Scott thought it appropriate to make a generalisation about people’s opinion based on skin colour, something I think that has no place in today’s society.

I was equally surprised that Mr Scott called giving an “over-the-hill tax incentive programme” a “joke”. Tax incentives work equally well for poor people as they do for the rich, if properly developed. I am sure if the FNM was unified and stopped criticising their elected leader in public, they could come up with a detailed “over-the-hill tax incentive programme” that would help lift people out of poverty and lower our crime rate. Our country deserves more ideas and action rather than political bickering.

Its about leadership. Michael may be wrong with his generalization but he is not wrong about Minnis being a failed leader. Minnis is a failure as opposition leader and as party leader. The question is do we want to elect a failure to replace a failure? Or can we do better? I say the FNM can do much better than Minnis.

I honestly see no compelling reason to vote.....

Agreed, this is about leadership and the good Doctor does not seem to be able to lead. Some of us can and some of us can't.

I am sure that he is a good and honourable man, but that does not make him a leader.
