A woman is in police custody in connection with a hit and run accident that occurred on Christmas Eve.
According to police reports, shortly after midnight on December 24, a traffic accident occurred on Spikenard Road involving a 2006 Honda motorcycle occupied by an man and a dark coloured sports utility vehicle (SUV).
Police at the time said they were unsure of the circumstances surrounding the accident, but said the driver of the SUV failed to remain on the scene after hitting the motorcyclist.
The victim was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries shortly after 5pm on Friday, January 1.
He has been identified as 25-year-old Matthew Ferguson of Boatswain Hill.
