A 20-year-old Spring City, Abaco, man was charged yesterday with manslaughter in the Marsh Harbour Magistrate’s Court.
Shannon Walkins, who is accused of the stabbing death of 38-year-old Alfred Watkins, appeared before Magistrate Ancella Evans on Thursday.
It is alleged that on December 22, he stabbed Watkins, a resident of Spring City, in the area of Don McKay Boulevard. Watkins died in hospital earlier this month.
Walkins was not required to enter a plea to the manslaughter charge, which is an indictable offence. The matter will proceed by way of voluntary bill of indictment. He was remanded in custody at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until February 29 for trial.
