Regulators nip the Shockers 83-82, Athletico Bahamas gets 96-73 win over Elite Basketball

ATHLETICO Bahamas and Mr Ship It Regulators pulled off victories in the New Providence Basketball Association at the AF Adderley Gymnasium on

Wednesday night.

While Athletico Bahamas routed Elite Basketball Club 96-73, Mr Ship It nipped Real Deal Shockers 83-82.

WITH just one second left on the clock, Gamaliel Rose canned the second of two free throws on a foul by Alcot Fox to seal the one-point victory for Ship It. Six seconds earlier, Fox had just completed a three-point play to bring the Real Deal from a 82-79 deficit to tie the score.

Rose, who played 26 minutes, scored just four points, but pulled down 11 rebounds with three assists in the win for the Regulators, coached by Don ‘Robo’ Dorsette. Kenneth Pratt had a game high 20 points with seven rebounds and three assists, Alexander Rolle had 17 points and four rebounds and Robert Missick chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Fox ended up with 12 points, three assists and two rebounds for the Shockers, coached by James Price. Salethial Dean led their attack with 16 points, a game high 15 rebounds and four assists, Jermaine Bethel had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Crosley Wilmore added 12 points and Kamal Murphy chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

Mr Ship It came from a 21-16 deficit at the end of the first quarter and they trailed 42-38 at the half. But they turned things around in the second half, using a 21-19 spurt to trim the deficit to two (61-59) at the end of the third before they went on a 24-21 surge in the fourth, including Rose’s winning charity shot.

The Regulators held a 56-48 rebound advantage and they had two less turnovers (29) compared to the 31 by the Shockers.

Athletico Bahamas 96,

Elite Basketball 73

DESPITE having a limited amount of players in uniform, Athletico Bahamas put up a good showing to pull off their rout as Dylan Musgrove led three other players in double figures with 30 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes.

Cameron Adderley had 18 points and four rebounds as three players came off the bench and made their presence felt. Shakwon Lewis had 11 points and five assists and Ira Farrington had 10 points, five rebounds and three assists. Starters Jamaris King and Jeron Smith (nine assists) both had eight points with seven and six rebounds respectively. Kyle Mackey had seven points and 12 rebounds.

Athletico Bahamas held a 56-28 advantage on the boards and they had 24 turnovers compared to the 20 by Elite Basketball.

In a losing effort, Carvel Johnson scored a game high 25 points with 11 rebounds, Dario McKenzie had 13 points and eight rebounds and Rashad Dean had 11 points and eight rebounds.
