REGULATORS, REBELS, ATHLETICO AND CYBOTS ALL GET WINS IN THE NPBA

THE New Providence Men’s Basketball Association continued its regular season at the AF Adderley Gymnasium over the weekend.

A double header was played on Saturday night with the Rhythm Rebels nipping the Elites Basketball Club, while the Mr Ship It Freight Regulators held off the Pyramid Food Rockets 101-94.

On Friday night, another double header was played with the Mailboat Cybots routing the Pirates 83-69 and Athletico pulling off a 94-92 sneaker over the Island Game Pros.

Regulators 101, Rockets 94

Gamaliel Rose, producing one of his best performances of the season, scored a game high 26 points with 13 rebounds and seven assists in 34 minutes and 17 seconds to lead two other Mr Shit It Freight players in double figures. Alexander Rolle had 22 points and five rebounds, while Simon Cruz came off the bench and contributed 17 points.

Robert Missick (11 rebounds) and Miguel Mackey (eight assists and six rebounds) both had eight points and Lamar Watkins and Cordero Thompson had seven points apiece.

Rebels 75, Elites 73

Vincent ‘Six’ Knowles sunk a basket with just 12 seconds left to cut the deficit to the final score, but it wasn’t enough to enable the veteran players to pull off the win over their younger foes. Andrew King hit one of his two free throws with 20 seconds on the clock to push the Rhythm Rebels up 75-71. Devon Brennen scored 21 points to lead the Rebels. King only had six points. Rashard Williams scored 20, Craig Buchanan had 10 and Patrick Leadon had eight points and 12 rebounds.

Dario McKenzie (five rebounds) and Brandon Stubbs both had 19 points for the Elites off the bench. Knowles finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds and Carvel Johnson added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Athletico 94, Pros 92

In a game that saw both teams miss some critical free throws down the stretch, Jeron Smith hit one of two charity shots to seal the deal with just 10 seconds left.

Smith finished with a game high 26 points, seven assists and four rebounds, Dylan Musgrove had 22 points, four rebounds and four assists, Shakwon Lewis had 21 points, six rebounds and five assists and Cameron Adderley chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds.

Adorn Charlow (12 rebounds) and Kevin Wright both had 22 points, Derrick Ferguson had 19 points and four assists and Colton Albury had 11 points and 17 rebounds.

Cybots 83, Pirates 69

Eugene Bain scored 16 points with seven rebounds and Cordero Pinder scored 15 points with nine rebounds to lead the Mailboat. Livingstone Munnings had 14 points and 15 rebounds, Jeremy Hutchinson (seven rebounds) and Ernst Saunders (five assists and four rebounds) both had 11 points and Lerecus Armbrister helped out with nine rebounds, three rebounds and three assists.

Raif Ferguson had 16 points, Kronoff Dean had 15 points and five rebounds and Tevin Hudson had 14 points and eight rebounds in a losing effort.
