I am writing to the person/persons who are responsible for the road works in Nassau. I am a resident of the Western District and one who has to travel on Nassau Street, at least twice per day east to west; west to east, and just the thought of having to do this sickens me.

On Nassau Street, you have to ride from side to side of the road just to try and not fall into a pot hole. The back tyre on the driver’s side of my car is out-of-line because I have fallen into several holes at different times.

When it rains, you have no knowledge of where the holes are until you fall into one. I really do not know who to speak to for recourse.

I have heard that the Junkanoo Carnival is still being planned for this year, although we have no knowledge of how the taxpayers’ funds were spent in 2015.

We have heard that there was a loss of some $4m dollars and there is no accountability. We were promised a full accounting of the affair, but we are still waiting.

For God’s sake, please take these funds and repair our roads! We pay car inspection fees, driver’s license fees, and the licensing of our cars. Kindly tell the public where these funds are spent, because our roads are deplorable! We complain, but no one is listening because no one cares. However, 2017 is fast approaching.

How can you say you believe in Bahamians when our roads are in such a state? Don’t you think we deserve better?

Most of the Members of Parliament are just a bunch of selfish people! It is all for me baby, all for me, what a shame!
