NHI turmoil

EDITOR, The Tribune.

NHI - the PM will save us all a lot of stress let alone money which he loves to spend on consultants if he simply convenes a meeting with the two Doctors groups - the Insurance providers and then seemingly find a solution to an impasse created by his government.

Someone is not being truthful - you either had meetings (note plural) or you didn’t, you can’t be saying both and certainly you shouldn’t be saying we did and there were none.

NHI is so obviously now a campaign issue .... conveniently for Christie he has at this time Dr Minnis as the leader of the largest opposition party….such a beautiful convenient reality – Minnis objects to NHI – Christie slams him for not being humane and wishing better health provisions for the less fortunate.

Mr Prime Minister: How many Bahamians died last year, 2015, because there was no NHI?

Isn’t that the reason you wish to create NHI?

When will PM Christie tell John Pinder and the other Trade Unionists that bush crack their Private Health Insurance plans are gone as in they all will be cancelled.

Christie gotta a problem….these Health Plans are incorporated in Collective Agreements which are totally supported by our labour laws. Only way to breach them is to give financial restitution – compensation.

National insurance worked. in spite of opposition and the doom and gloom by those who had no use for NI there are so many Bahamian people who only have their NI Pension. It is my hope that that NIH works. it will benefit poor people.
