RECLAIM OUR TERRITORY: Young people from Ebenezer Baptist Church in Exuma volunteer their time to help in a clean-up campaign.

THE youth arm of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Exuma recently volunteered their time to engage in a clean-up campaign.

Led by the youth group’s president, Jackie Curry, and Sister Keniqueca Whyms, the young people were excited to “Reclaim Our Territory”, which is the church’s theme.

The clean-up campaign took place in the park at Farmer’s Hill, the same settlement where their church is located. Boys and girls were eager and willing to participate in the effort to help make their community clean. They believe activities such as this must be done on a regular basis to promote community involvement.

The youth arm of the church meets every Tuesday and the group is determined to remain steadfast and positive in today’s society as they participate in Bible study, games, lectures and other activities. A new dance group is led by dance director Keniqueca Whyms who is mentoring the young ladies as they minister and strive to be well-respected and develop their talents.
