GRAND BAHAMA POLICE PROBE SHOOTING OF MAN IN HAND AT EAST SUNRISE HIGHWAY CLUB

GRAND Bahama police are investigating a shooting incident that resulted in a 30-year-old Freeport man being shot in the hand early Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the incident occurred shortly before 2am when the victim was sitting in his vehicle at a nightclub on East Sunrise Highway.

Three men were later arrested and are assisting police with their investigation into the matter.

• In other crime news, a Freeport man was arrested on Tuesday at Freeport Harbour after drugs were allegedly discovered in his footwear.

Police reported that shortly after 4pm the man presented himself at the security screening area and during a search, was allegedly caught with a quantity of suspected cocaine in his tennis shoes.

The suspect was taken into police custody and is expected to be formally arraigned in the Magistrate’s Court later this week.

Investigations continue.
