2016 Bahamas Golf Federation Junior National Team Profiles

Boys 13 & Under Division

Heathcliffe Kane

Heathcliffe Peter Kane has a passion for golf that is undeniable. This will be his first appearance representing the Bahamas at the CAJGC. Heath is the current Boys 11-13 Bahamas Junior National Champion and reigning Albany Club Junior Boys Club Champion. Heath is currently enrolled at IMG and has his sights set on earning a medal at the 2018 Youth Olympics for the Bahamas in Buenos Aires.

Dominic Greives

Dominic is excited and proud to represent the Bahamas in his debut at the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships. Playing golf is his passion and he loves the challenges that come with playing in a competitive environment. Dominic brings to Team Bahamas a level of composure on the golf course that is beyond his years. His favourite golfers are Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson.

Boys 15 & Under Division

Xavier Robinson

Xavier is the Boys 14-15 Junior National Champion and is a member of the Bahamia Country Club Member’s Golf. This will be his fifth appearance representing the Bahamas at the CAJGC tournament. Xavier will also represent the Bahamas at the 2016 R&A Junior Open in Scotland this summer. Ultimately, Xavier believes that life is a journey and to reflect the qualities of God through his actions is most important.

Boys 17 & Under Division

Cameron Riley

Cameron Nicolaus Riley was introduced to golf by his father Nick and became instantly fond of the game. Cameron is the Junior Boys National Champion and a veteran player for the Bahamas. Cameron’s tournament experience and leadership will help Team Bahamas at this year’s CAJGC. Cameron will play collegiate golf for FAMU this Fall.

Girls 13 & Under Division

Ashley Michel

Ashley will be making her third appearance at this year’s CAJGC. She is excited to be a part of this year’s team. Ashley is a talented junior golfer and her play will be highlighted at this tournament. She is grateful for the opportunity to represent Team Bahamas and all of the persons who have helped her along the way. Go Team Bahamas!

Sophie Anand

Sophie will be making her first appearance at the CAJGC tournament as a member of Team Bahamas. Sophie currently attends Windsor Preparatory School and is in the 6th grade. She has been playing golf for only 2 years and is the reigning Junior Girls Club Champion at Albany Golf Club. Also Sophie was a part of this year’s winning pro-amateur team at the LPGA Bahamas Pure Silk Classic.

In 2016, Sophie earned runner-up honours in the Girls Under 13 HJGC’s Tampa Bay Junior Challenge and the BGF’s National Junior Championships. Her favourite golfers are Adam Scott, Justin Rose, Tiger Woods and Anna Nordqvist.

Girls 15 & Under Division

Haylie Turnquest

Haylie is 13-years-old and has been playing golf since she was 4 years of age. Over the years she has had multiple wins as well as player of the year awards throughout South Florida. Haylie finished first in the Girls 14-15 Bahamas Junior National Championships and is very proud to represent the Bahamas at the CAJGC for the first time in Barbados. Haylie hopes to represent the Bahamas for many years to come, including in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.

Girls 17 & Under Division

Inecia Rolle

Inecia is the reigning Bahamas Junior Girls National Champion, Bahamas Women’s National Amateur Champion and longest serving junior team member. Inecia will lead Team Bahamas as captain in her final appearance at the CAJGC. Team Bahamas is proud to have Inecia at its helm and we wish her all the best in this tournament and during her collegiate golf career at Chowan University.
