A MAN appeared in Magistrate’s Court yesterday accused of sexually assaulting a minor who was more than 20 years his junior.

Harry Magloire, 38, stood before Magistrate Andrew Forbes concerning the alleged crime against a 16-year-old girl committed between June 2014 and August 2015.

Magloire will not be required to enter a plea until a formal arraignment in the Supreme Court as he was informed that the case will be transferred there by the presentation of voluntary bill of indictment.

The indictment contains the Crown’s case against him and at least half a dozen witnesses are expected to testify.

The accused was remanded to the Department of Correctional Services until his next court appearance, scheduled for April 25, where the VBI is expected to be presented.

A person convicted of sexually assaulting a minor faces between seven years and life imprisonment.
