Corrections officer and wife arrested

A male corrections officer from the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services and his wife are in custody after they were arrested and accused of possession of dangerous drugs on Friday, March 25.

According to police, shortly after 10pm Drug Enforcement Unit officers acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on the home of the corrections officer located in Colony Village. Officers allegedly uncovered a quantity of marijuana. Police also made a drug arrest on Saturday.

Officers from the Selective Enforcement Team took an adult man and woman into custody after they were found in possession of dangerous drugs.

Shortly after 1pm, a team of officers from the Selective Enforcement Team acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on the home of the two suspects located off Pine Barren Road, where they allegedly uncovered a quantity of marijuana.

Police also reported that four men are in custody after 29 pounds of marijuana were seized on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, shortly after 1pm, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on information went to a residence off Marshall Road, where they uncovered the marijuana.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned in court soon.
