Disgraceful MPs

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Last evening while watching the “debate” on Parliamentary TV, I was again struck by the demeanor of our politicians especially those on the government side.

The taunting and jeering directed at the Leader of the Opposition and the Member for Montagu as they attempted to present documents relevant to statements previously attributed to the Prime Minister was more akin to a rabble rather than statesmen and women.

In my opinion the most shameful conduct of all was that of Deputy Speaker Dion Smith whose deliberate obstruction of those opposition members, while winking and grinning obsequiously at the government bench, reminded me of a puffed up, petulant and vindictive school boy.

This man obviously doesn’t understand the role of the Speaker and it is a travesty that the people’s business should be debated under the direction of someone so obviously politically biased and blinded.
