AN off-duty police officer was treated in hospital after he was shot during an attempted armed robbery in Abaco.
According to police reports, the incident happened around 9pm on Monday.
The off duty officer was at Don McKay Blvd in Marsh Harbour, Abaco at a parking lot when he was attacked by a masked man armed with a handgun. In an armed robbery attempt, the weapon was discharged which resulted in the officer receiving injuries, police said.
The gunman then escaped in nearby bushes. The officer was treated at the Marsh Harbour Clinic for non-life threatening injuries and discharged.
