LIVINGSTON “Toggie” Bullard and Wisler “Bobo” Davilma have been arrested and are in police custody, Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade confirmed last night.

Speaking with The Tribune, Mr Greenslade said the two men were arrested in the “wee hours” of Wednesday morning at two separate locations in New Providence. He did not provide further details.

The two men are at the centre of an alleged murder-for-hire plot involving Canadian fashion designer Peter Nygard.

Earlier this month, Mr Greenslade told reporters that he had launched an investigation into allegations that Mr Nygard orchestrated a murderous plot against his billionaire neighbour Louis Bacon and lawyer Fred Smith, his chief opponents in an ongoing campaign against development at Nygard Cay.

According to court documents filed by several directors of Save the Bays on March 9, Bullard and Davilma identified themselves as high profile “gang members” and alleged that Mr Nygard gave them a “hit list” of people to murder or “send a message” to.

Both Prime Minister Perry Christie and Deputy Prime Minister Philip Davis’ names were mentioned in secret recordings between Mr Nygard, Bullard and Davilma.

The recordings were part of Save the Bays’ court filing. The affidavit alleges the two men, allegedly hired by Mr Nygard, were sent to him by Mr Davis to protect the fashion mogul’s local interests as a major campaign backer of the Progressive Liberal Party.

Earlier this month, Mr Greenslade said the prime minister had spoken directly to a lead detective to indicate his level of discontent about the matter. Meanwhile Mr Davis has said he did meet with police on the issue, but maintains he was not questioned.

Mr Greenslade previously had said the independent investigation would determine whether there is anything of a criminal nature that the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) should be pursuing.

He also said earlier this month that he received no complaints from anyone mentioned in the 400-page affidavit filed by Save the Bays who claimed their lives were threatened. He also previously said he had not received any reports from anyone who had information of someone doing a “wrong deed” and that as a result of this investigation, several persons “could be arrested and charged or worse”.

In separate affidavits filed by Mr Nygard last week, Bullard and Dalvima changed their stories and alleged that they were promised $3m for their “false testimony” against Mr Nygard and paid $50,000 upfront.

Greenslade needs to continue doing his job by following the cash payments and arresting Brave Davis for, among other things, hiring these two thugs at the taxpayers expense. Nygard, Bacon, Smith, Mitchell and Christie should also be "taken in" for serious rounds of questioning by expert interrogators, provided if need be by the FBI. Nottage should be pressing hard for this to happen!

Under arrest for what? The COP said no one made a formal complaint. So we are now arresting persons based on informal incomplete information?

So the scape goats will be 'scaped', while the masterminds behind the criminal and murder plots continue life as usual? just asking

I do believe that this thing will be much bigger than the politicians think. I bet money went through the U.S. banking system, if corruption is involved or assumed, this will open a whole new can of worms for our politicians, payors and payees (wire fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, corruption). All you need is Mr. Preet Bharara up in New York having a dull moment and pick this up. Maybe some politicians will have to vacation in Cuba going forward and order online.

Comrades you can't have an alleged contract hitman's, without an alleged party who hired another party cause they themselves is lacking the fortitude to kill another. Thus, someone has to have been the alleged person that the hitman's agreed to takes the mony from?
If you have sufficient reason brings the hitman's into policeman's custody, what about the alleged one agreeing to pay the hitman's the money?
You would have be funny in head claim be a paid hitman'sfor money, but it still isn't a crime go around pretending you is a hitman's.
For damn sure you wouldn't have go into hiding from the policeman's - unless you really got's, one seriously troubled head?

agreed, however Tal just consider the juicy pictures of our politicians on social media if the man from up North gets either charged, arrested or booted out of the country. The Man from up North has so much dirt on every of our public servants that the divorce court will be busy for many many years.

Toggie and Bobo should immediately be given tenure at the Harvard School of Business. Two simple guys from over-the-hill who were able to swing politicians, lawyers, former FBI and Scotland Yard agents, taxpayers, a billionaire and a multi-millionaire for their own financial benefit, imagine what they could accomplish if they could use their 'talents' constructively!

yes, BIFF should initiate a director to make a movie. Maybe we should change the venue of the story to Miami? a bit more catchy and sellable to movie goers.

  • Toggie and Bobo should immediately be given tenure at the Harvard School of Business.

Yes, there are so many affidavits flying around, but these fellas are just gaming a system that falsely assumes that they are smart or like to follow protocol. Oftentimes the best at navigating the business world are those who have no initial concept of how it works, and they end up fooling everyone.

In any event, the conclusion to all of this will be very telling. If scape goats are being prepared as John queries above, then this mess becomes even more foul. The people are watching.

Comrades shouldn't the policeman's also wants go seize emails and documents claimed be in the trash can possession of a certain crown minister? So damaging that threats have been made to expose on the floor of the Honourable House of Assembly, supposedly damaging details against persons that they wouldn't want known?
Comrades not only have I often blogged that you couldn't possible makes this stuff up, but now I be's hearing, how' 'Asian porn' may very well be thrown into the mix of Lyford Cay's craziness? Oh yes, I will keeps blogging that the casualties list going be long and damaging, before this Lyford Cay mess does reaches its conclusion?
Comrades if you is not involved, do yourself, your reputation and family a major favour, don't get involved.

Does anyone know what they are holding them for? They did not commit any crime did they?

Even if they agreed to do a hit, they did not carry it out. The agreement is an illegal contract and an illegal contract is unenforceable. There is no crime known as an illegal contract crime.

All I know is there have been whispers, talk, and shouts of corruption from 2012. I know that where there is smoke there is fire and man the smoke is about as thick as the noxious cloud from the Harold Rd. dump.

I believe the "it's time to move on." feelers sent out by George Smith this week was the beginning of the whitewash campaign. Some say that there are more important things to talk about than Toggie and Bobo. I say yes there are OTHER important things that we must not lose sight of but this fiasco goes to the heart of much that is wrong in the Bahamas.

The insidious relationship between men in high places and the most dangerous criminals. "Second chances" for criminals/offenders with political ties that result in them shooting straight to the top over persons who haven't even been given their first chance. Education and doing the right thing is for losers, there's easy millions to be made "working the system". Politicians abusing power. Politicians who seemingly have no idea what the role of an MP is. Cabinet ministers who seemingly have a greater allegiance to their corrupt colleagues than love for the nation, touch one touch all.

Foreign monied interest breaking down every fibre of what is Bahamian by greasing political money hungry "officials". (Have you seen the Pointe..well the green tarp around it anyway? The thing that is NOT Bahamian towers above our historical city, this must be how every conquered nation felt when they were overtaken by foreign spoilers, New World indeed)
