ST ANNE’S MP Hubert Chipman said yesterday he supports FNM Leader Dr Hubert Minnis “100 per cent” and the party is investigating who leaked confidential emails between himself, other members of the FNM and Dr Minnis to the press.
Mr Chipman told The Tribune that he feels like the “world is shooting at the FNM” and every time they begin to work on their internal issues, someone tries to sabotage them.
His comments came after an email thread from Ft Charlotte MP Dr Andre Rollins, advising Dr Minnis to remove Kwasi Thompson as senator and appoint Dr Duane Sands, along with responses from other MPs was published in a newspaper yesterday.
In one email, Mr Chipman said he believes the FNM is “a parked car going nowhere.”
Yesterday, Mr Chipman said whoever did this “malicious act” was trying to cause further discord within the party. He said he believes the emails were leaked by a member of the FNM but would not speculate as to who he thought it was.
“Those were personal emails to the leader and let me make it clear, I support Dr Minnis 100 per cent. I thought it was malicious. These were internal emails that were addressed to the leader. All we were trying to do was push for Dr Sands. That is something positive and someone is trying to make it negative,” Mr Chipman told this newspaper.
“They tried to make it look like we were bullying when we were just suggesting. We were just in the House of Assembly talking about leaked emails and now we are doing the same foolishness. This is terrible. I do not believe any account was hacked, I believe someone leaked it. They are trying to cause problems within the party, trying to cause an uproar.
“We are trying to move forward and get past our issues and it looks as if the world is shooting at the FNM,” Mr Chipman said.
Earlier this year, FNM Deputy Leader Peter Turnquest said despite being perceived as a fractured organisation, the Official Opposition “is still a united force to reckon with” ahead of the 2017 general election.
The party has been dogged with a series of internal spats that have been made public.
Despite Mr Turnquest’s assurances, a source within the party recently said “chaos is underway behind the scenes.”

Chippy is incorrect in his belief that the FNM is "a parked car going nowhere". The FNM is a derailed wrecked train (now with no freight whatsoever) that will never again ride on the tracks of Bahamian politics! And we have both Hubiggity and Minnis to thank for the loud ringing of the death knell that doth toll the end of the FNM party!!

emails are leaaked every second. No surprise there, it is all out there for the world to see and read. much more important documents have been leaked the FNM and STB will learn this the hard way. There is nothing hidden that will not be brought to light, (Bibical) in the words of the former DPM." this is small things" get use to it

Chippie is lying right through his foxy-looking teeth .......... he knows that he, Old Baldy and LBT and others are scheming to uproot and/or destroy Hubert Minnis- led FNM by the coming summer ....... Just stay tuned for the fireworks on Mackey Street soon ...... LBT is quiet ...... still waters run deep ........... It's going to be a genuine soap opera in the FNM before Christmas!!!!!!!!!!

Politicians them. . .what a bunch. . .always only thinking about their own butts. All this scheming to "get rid of doc" only making him look strong and "set" for battle!!
I wonder why none of his distractors in the FNM can't. . .emphasis on "can't take him on in the open". . .but doing every thing to "make doc look bad". . .from the bush only though.
Cash say "everybody shooting at the FNM. . .only we can't see who shooting at us". The shoots are being done by persons in the party. . .POSSIBLY LBT ET AL!!

What an idiot. He can take credit for putting the PLP back in power for another 5 years.
We need some opposition and we know the FNM are, with the exception of LBT, a useless opposition.
I am not in LBT's constituency so I will vote DNA in the hopes that they can get a seat or two.

I understand what each of you is saying. I am just surprised at the level people go to nowadays. I know what it is to come out of a work meeting and voice recordings of the meeting have been sent all over the place. If they are discussing party business then it should stay in that group. I pray that whomever is doing this receives some penalty if only a suspension. Goodness if in a party we cannot keep our in house business secret, how can we trust you with the country's business. It makes the whole party look very unprofessional and appear like a bunch of jealous quarreling young girls. Start to discipline your members as this is not some secret hacker doing this, this is one of the same person's involved in the group email. Its a blessing and a curse that newspaper cannot reveal their sources.

That is simply the mind of a spoilt, selfish, person whose self-worth is heavily based on "what I gat" rather than on "who I am". . . AND FEEL THAT THEY ARE ENTITLED. This type of person will "sell they ma" to become "somebody" . . . without principles, back stabber, condescending and shallow like lake Nancy! He/she that feel the over whelming need to put down others and scratch and pull down like a black crab testify to their over whelming need to "climb out" of themselves. . .being rich don't help this either. . .
Only thing you can do with such a person is get rid of them or out think them! Problem with getting rid of such a person is that you will lose sight of them. . . they can't be trusted out of sight! Just keep them sitting right next to ya. . .in the house. . .and out think them in the sight of the public. . .like it is happening now. Lol!

This is the "battle of Armageddon" for doc. . . it looks like that Rollins is being used to "shot off his mouth" by the "long knives crew" in the FNM to take leadership by "other means" by placing dr sands in position to become the new leader after they reinvigorate their old plan to ask the GG to remove the doc as leader!
THIS IS WATERLOO FOR ALL INVOLVED. . .LBT HAS LOST HER STANDING WITH THE PUBLIC AND THE WHITE MONIED FOLKS BECAUSE SHE CAN'T BEAT THE DOC. . .SO THEY ARE NOW BACKING DR SANDS AS THEIR "HOPES" TO GET AROUND DOC MINNIS!! They now think that by placing doc sands in the "position" to take over when they "jook" doc minnis in his back.
The natives are now extremely desperate to "tief" the leadership from doc minnis. . .they dare not go to the council. . .heck the PLP now getting in on the "get rid of dc minnis" wagon. . .they now "helping out" LBT with her LI seat. . .and they could not stand her guts a few months ago. . .now she they baby!
