Baptist Sports Council’s playoffs get underway this Saturday

THE Baptist Sports Council’s 2016 Basketball League playoff picture is set following the completion of the regular season on Saturday at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

The best-of-three playoffs get underway on Saturday in both the 19-and-under and men’s divisions. The 15-and-under best-of-seven championship series between Macedonia and the Eagles Nest will continue with game three at 10am.

In the 19-and-under division, first place Macedonia will take on fourth place Mekaddish Ministries and second place Good Samaritan Ministries will face third place Eagles Nest.

In the men’s division, first place Macedonia will tangle with fourth place God’s Squad in one half of the series and second place Eagles Nest will battle with third place Golden Gates.

Here’s a summary of some of the games played on Saturday:

Macedonia 52,

Eagles Nest 56

Delano Knowles exploded for 24 points, Lerecus Armbrister had 10, Devontee Gibson eight, Troy Marshall seven and Patrick Brice six in the men’s win.

Naldo Joseph had 12, Recarno Nixon had 10, Lorenzo Archer eight and both Dewayne Murray and Rashad Cornish scored seven in the loss.


Macedonia 38, 
Mekaddish A 23

Kenrick Charlton pumped in 16 points, Troy Marshall had seven and Devontee Gibson six in the win for Macedonia 19-and-under.

Brothers Chadvaughn James had 10 and Chadwin James had six in the loss.

Saturday’s schedule:

10am: Macedonia vs Eagles Nest (15)

11am: Eagles Nest vs Good Samaritan (19)

Noon: Mekaddish vs Macedonia (19)

1pm: Golden Gates vs Eagles Nest (M)

2pm: God’s Squad vs Macedonia (M)
