Junior Baseball League of Nassau - Playoff baseball at its best

THE fans that turned out to the Junior Baseball League of Nassau’s Field of Dreams on Saturday were treated to playoff baseball at its best as all three series finales went down to the wire. Details of the championship series are as follows:

MAJOR DIVISION

The Yankees jumped out to a 10-1 lead after four innings but sat still as the Giants chipped away at the lead and entered the bottom of the seventh inning with the scored deadlocked at 10-10.

After a lead off walk to Joshua Rolle, Sebastian Walcott crushed a walk off home run over the right field fence to give the Giants the championship.

GIANTS WIN SERIES 2-1

JUNIOR DIVISION

The upset minded Mariners who had won Game 1 in a close contest but had been blown out in game 2 jumped to a 10-1 lead but saw their lead evaporate to 11-10 entering the bottom of the seventh inning.

With the tying run on third base, Jake Knowles struck out Judah McPhee to hand the Mariners the championship over the pennant winning Orioles.

MARINERS WIN SERIES 2-1

TEE BALL

In a well played defensive game, the pennant winning Hornets held off the upstart Bears 17-16 to win the championship.

HORNETS WIN SERIES 2-0

COACH PITCH

The pennant winning Marlins had clinched their championship with a sweep of the Cubs on Wednesday.

MARLINS WIN SERIES 2-0

MINOR LEAGUE

The pennant winning Pirates completed a sweep of the Mets to secure their championship on Tuesday.

PIRATES WIN SERIES 2-0

SENIOR LEAGUE

Once again a pennant winner prevailed as the Rangers swept the series from the Brewers 2-0 on Thursday.

RANGERS WIN SERIES 2-0

GIRLS SOFT BALL

The pennant winners The Distributors had no problem with The Shippers in a 2-0 sweep on Wednesday.
