NPSA regular season heats up

NEW Providence Softball Association continued its regular season action with a ladies’ double header in the Banker’s Field at Baillou Hills Sporting Complex Saturday night.

In one of the games played, the Bommer G Lady Operators blasted the College of the Bahamas Lady Caribs 11-1.

Ashanti Darville was the winning pitcher and Charity Rolle was tagged with the loss.

For the Lady Operators, Trice Curry went 1-for-3 with two runs batted in and scored two runs and Shaquelle Bain went 2-for-3, scoring a pair of runs.

The other game saw the Johnson Lady Truckers knock off the Lady Stingers 8-1.

Marvell Miller was the winning pitcher and Thela Johnson suffered the loss.

Kenise Symonette went 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored, while Miller helped her own cause by going 1-for-3 with a RBI.

Lashonda Bethel went 2-for-3 with a run scored in the loss.

The games followed another double header that was played on Thursday night.

In the ladies’ opener, the Platinum Pool Sharks knocked off the Sunshine Auto Wildcats.

Brenda Ferguson was the winning pitcher and Mary Sweeting was tagged with the loss.

Ferguson helped her own cause by going 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored.

Lashawn Whylly went 3 for 5, scoring 3 runs 2 RBI, Yvanna McDonald went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored and Basilnique Rolle was 2-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored.

Rebecca Moss went 1-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored and Donette Edwards was 1-for-3 with a RBI.

The men’s feature game saw the C&S Hitmen double up the Sports Centre Dorsey Park Boys 10-5.

Alcott Forbes was the winning pitcher and Culbert ‘Buster’ Evans was the loser.

Endron Knowles went 2-for-3 with two RBI and as many runs scored, Martin Burrows Jr went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored and Dino Sweeting was 2-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored.

Lavaughn Ferguson went 1-for-2 with a RBI and a run scored.

The NPSA is scheduled to continue with its regular season action with another double header starting at 7pm on Tuesday.
