A MAN has been found shot dead in his car at the Montagu foreshore on Sunday morning and police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspects and a vehicle of interest in connection with the incident.

Officers cordoned off Eastern Road between the Nassau Sailing Club and New Gate Road and diverted traffic after the discovery was made in the parking area east of the club around 7.30am.

According to reports, police received a report of a body of a man found in a black Mercedes Benz parked just east of the Montagu boat ramp. When officers arrived on the scene they found the lifeless body of a man who had been shot. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say the vehicle they are interested in in connection with the death is a silver Honda Accord, licence number 215220, believed to be occupied by four men.

It is the second dead body to have been found in New Providence in 19 hours. On Saturday a man was found dead at the New Providence Landfill.

According to reports, shortly after 1pm, police received a report that a man had been found dead near some heavy-duty equipment by workers at the facility. When officers arrived they found the lifeless body of a man in his early 50s with trauma to the body. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say foul play is not suspected and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
