Church to host benefit concert for senior citizen project

THE leadership of Calvary Deliverance Church is inviting members of the community to the Faith Village benefit concert to assist the elderly.

The concert will be held at the church on October 7 at 7.30pm.

“We are all aware of the insufficient housing and quality care of the elderly in our country, and with this in mind, our pastor emeritus, Bishop V G Clarke, being led by the Lord, envisioned ‘Faith Village’ and embarked upon the vision to construct the Faith Village Senior Citizen’s Project, a home for the elderly,” the church said.

Pastor James Newry has now taken on the mantle to make this vision a reality. The benefit concert will help support the mission.

The project will include the following phases: a senior citizen’s home, a daycare for the elderly, a youth activity centre and a pre-school.

The upcoming concert promises to be uplifting, energising and fulfilling. Guest artists will include Bishop Washington Williams, formerly of The Cooling Waters; Pastor Simeon Outten and the Freedom Band; Bishop Lawrence Rolle; Christian Massive, Landlord and many more.

The Faith Village Retirement Complex and Daycare will be a modern facility catering to the needs and overall social development of the elderly.

It is further envisioned to expand Faith Village to a contemporary state-of-the-art complex with a multi-purpose youth activity centre constructed on 10 acres of land.

Tickets in support of this project can be obtained at the Classy Kids Boutique on Jerome Avenue; the Vogue Classique Boutique on Robinson Road and Charles Vincent Street; the Variety Disposable on Soldier Road ,and Goldie’s Jewellers on Mount Rose Avenue.
