What a load of rubbish at Montagu

CONCERNS are being raised again about rubbish piling up in the skip at the Montagu ramp and being left uncollected.

Photographs taken this week show the skip overflowing with plastic bags of domestic garbage, vegetation and discarded food and drinks cans with rubbish strewn around the area, which is close to the dock where vendors are selling fresh fish. Concerned visitors are worried about the health hazards this presents. The eyesore is also close to the boundary with the neighbouring Royal Nassau Sailing Club.

“There is a private club next door that has to live with this infestation,” one person told The Tribune. “There are vendors less than ten yards away selling ‘fresh fish’. It is a disgrace!”

The Tribune raised similar concerns last year when the skip was overflowing and action was taken at the time to collect the rubbish regularly.
