Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) newly appointed board has held its first meeting. In attendance was Minister of Labor and Senator Dion Foulkes who has responsibility for consumer affairs. Minister Foulkes’ five year strategic plan for CPC was laid out at the meeting. CPC will employ strategies that are consistent with the following guiding principles /core values.
Emphasis will be on educating consumers, sustainable consumption in a competitive market for goods and services, adherence to international food safety standards and support for local production and consumption.CPC says it will will partner with other agencies in pursuing these targets.
