NPBA: High Flyers rout Buckets 89-72, Shockers stun Rebels 65-63

THE New Providence Basketball Association continued its regular season action at the AF Adderley Gymnasium on Wednesday night with the Breezes High Flyers and the JD's Seafood Shockers winning their respective games. In the opening game, the High Flyers routed the Aliv Buckets 89-72, while the Shockers stunned the Rhythm Rebels 65-63.

Dominiqueco Dean canned the last of his pair of free throws with 11 seconds left in the game to seal the win for JD's Seafood.

The Shockers had gone ahead 64-60 on a layup from William Rigby with 1:41 on the clock.

However, Aliv rallied back to make it a closer encounter down the stretch.

At 1:31, Antario Collie sunk his pair of charity shots to cut the deficit to 64-62 and with 1:06 to go, Brian Bain hit the last of his two foul shots to trim the lead to 64-63.

Dean finished with nine points and seven rebounds, while Rigby led their attack with 12 points and five rebounds. Shakwon Lewis had 11 points and six rebounds as he came off the bench. For Rhythm, Bain had a game high 14 points with four rebounds. Adorn Charlow came off the bench with nine points, six rebounds and two blocked shots and both Rashard Williams and Theo Ferguson had seven points.

High Flyers 89, Buckets 72

Dave Davis scored 19 points in 22 minutes and 40 seconds, shooting 7-for-17 from the field and 5-for-7 from the free throw line. He also had eight rebounds.

Devontee Gibson added 18 points with 11 rebounds, Jeremy Neely had 13 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and three assists, Enrico Bethel had 11 points and six rebounds and Shonton Pratt also chipped in with 11 points, four assists and three steals.

In a losing effort, Rashad Ingraham had a game high 26 points in 36:33 minutes, shooting 11-for-19 from the field and 4-for-7 from the foul line, and he pulled down seven rebounds.

Dylan Musgerove had 23 points with eight rebounds, James Rolle had eight points, six assists, four steals and three rebounds and Keran Mortimer helped out with seven points.
