AS IT is imperative to demonstrate the love for God in tangible ways, members of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church recently organised a mission trip to Crooked Island where they assisted with the reconstruction of St Paul’s Baptist Church in Cabbage Hill.

“We assisted after it was destroyed by Hurricane Joaquin in 2015. We see the church house as a beacon of hope in the community and as such it should not lie in disrepair but be restored as quickly as possible,” said Pastor Daniel Nottage of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.

For him, the highlight of the trip was to actually complete the scope of work that was targeted. From the installation of the ceiling in the main sanctuary and the repair of the floor tiling, to painting the building, it was all done in the allotted time.

Pastor Barbara Gibson of St Paul’s Baptist Church along with her congregation were said to be extremely appreciative of the work done. It brought a great sense of fulfillment to the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church team to be able to make a difference in the lives of that specific congregation and community.

“We give God all the glory for what he has done through our partnership with St Paul’s Baptist Church,” said Pastor Nottage.

“We seek to do at least one mission trip each year, but we undertake several mission/outreach projects each year, some of which are projects that are completed in New Providence.”

This Summer, the youth arm of the church will join a mission team from the Oral Roberts University in their trip to Tanzania, Africa.
