A NEWLY launched competition is giving local praise teams and ensembles the opportunity to have their music professionally recorded while also promising exposure in the gospel music industry.

United Worship, in conjunction with Elevation Records, is inviting all singing groups with six or more members to enter the competition. The group or team with the largest amount of persons registered will win.

The competition is being held as part of the upcoming United Worship Experience Conference 2017, scheduled to take place February 24-26.

Participants will win a production of an already written song by Elevation Records, a label that has signed some of the most talented gospel artists in the country, including Jonathan Farrington, Anna Calixte, Althea Cooper and others.

They will also win vocal lessons and a session by a notable vocal trainer in preparation of the release of the single, along with branding of the single and other prizes – altogether worth $3,000.

“It was inspired to give praise teams, groups and ensembles an opportunity to record who may not have an opportunity to do so on their own. It is great opportunity to get new music, new singers and groups to get exposure in the gospel community,” said Stefphan Sands, the competition’s coordinator.

All interested groups must register before the February 25 at a cost of $25 per person, which includes access to all events during the conference. The upcoming event is expected to feature “Sunday Best” winner Geoffrey Golden and Javis Mays, who are both international recording artists.

The winning praise team or ensemble will be announced at an upcoming open mic session.
