RUBIS Bahamas Limited has partnered with the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation offering scholarships to talented and deserving students.
The foundation is now in its 21st year.
"We believe that education is paramount to the sustainability of a nation and commend the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation for recognising and rewarding the nominees and winners," said Latia Duncombe, sales & marketing manager, Rubis Bahamas Ltd.
One of Rubis' very own was a nominee in the programme in 1999: Shireen Hanna-Seymour, Rubis' retail sales executive. Mrs Seymour recalled the ceremony as though it was yesterday.
"It was a day we were honoured and felt like royalty. The programme assisted in my development of the English language and taught me that hard work and persistence would be rewarded," she said.
The 2017 awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 27 at 6pm at Golden Gates World Outreach Ministries on Carmichael Road.
