SOFTBALL

UB WOMEN’S TEAM

TRYOUT

THE University of the Bahamas’ athletic department is all set to hold tryouts for players interested in playing for the Mingoes women’s softball team for the 2017/18 season.

The tryouts will be held on Saturday from 9-11am in the Banker’s Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

The tryouts will be conducted by Alex Gabriel, who has replaced Oria Wood-Knowles as the head coach.

It’s open to all 11th and 12th graders, recent graduates and UB students. Financial aid will be available for those players who qualify. For more information, interested persons can contact athletics@ub.edu.bs for more information.

BOWLING

BUD Cambridge of the BTC Night Hawks was the top scorer in Financial Bowling League competition last night at Mario’s Bowling and Family Entertainment Centre with a 573 high three game set.

Tyrone Knowles of Leno Corporate Services had a 566 second high set. Ural Pratt of Leno Corporate Services downed the pins for the high game of 208 followed by a 207 from Joey Demeritte of Best Deal Kirki Bar.

Joy Lockhart of the BTC Night Hawks was the MVP for the ladies with a 202 high game and a 537 high three game set. Angie Smith of Moonlight Strikers followed with a 504 second high set.

RUGBY

BRU ACTION

THE Bahamas Rugby Union will continue its regular season action at the Winton Rugby Centre with Baillou taking on the Cuckoos at 3pm on Saturday.

Last week, Cuckoos shutout the Buccaneers 30-0.
