The turning point

EDITOR, The Tribune.

WOW! I can’t believe Deputy Leader Chester Cooper is using the same old tactic the PLP has always used in an effort to win the next general elections. A tactic straight outta da University of Wulff Road.

A mission from God? Wasn’t the PLP on a mission from God to save us from the UBP in the sixties and the seventies and the eighties? Didn’t He send Sir Lynden Pindling to save us five times in a row? Didn’t he send former Prime Minister Perry Christie to save us from the evil FNM? Twice! Yet The Bahamas is a slum and the PLP were the slumlords. Am I now to believe that God wants me to forsake Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis and cast my vote for the PLP in the next general elections?

You know, I expected Mr Cooper to “turn” but not this quickly or so willingly. It’s only been six months since the May elections and two or three weeks since the PLP convention. I really must learn their brain washing techniques. So effective and the results are astounding.

As for my Facebook frenemies who think I don’t have a right to speak about God, Christianity or politics because I don’t have a Bahamian surname therefore I can’t be a Bahamian...there’s no such thing as a Bahamian surname. All Bahamian surnames are mostly European and some of the newer ones are African. I invite these people, and Mr Cooper, to come visit my neighborhood. Wulff Road. murder capital of New Providence. Come spend the night in an abandoned house or a broken down car that has been sitting on the side of the road for five or ten years. Then tell me that God gave this land to the PLP. If he did then He either got it wrong or the PLP wasted the opportunity of a lifetime.
