Three men in hospital after separate shootings

This story has been updated HERE

Three men are in hospital after three separate shootings on Friday night and early Saturday morning.

In the first incident, around 8pm on Friday, a man in Hospital Lane was approached by a lone gunman. A struggle ensued, resulting in the firearm discharging and the man being shot. He was taken to hospital where he is in stable condition. Residents in the area reportedly handed the gunman over to police.

Then, shortly after 10pm, two men were sitting in a vehicle in the Golden Gates area when one of them was shot.

He was taken to hospital and is in critical condition.

In the third shooting, just after 2am on Saturday, a man had pulled up at his home on Cowpen Road when a lone gunman shot him before speeding off in his 2009 black Toyota Corolla. The victim is in serious condition in hospital.

So Hubert Minnis woke up the sleeping demons bragging about he had crime under control. Three shootings in one 24 hour period plus a fatal (suspicions) stabbing.

I guess since crime and the fear of crime are up again, we have to stop working on job creation

These politicians had better pull their heads out of their own asses and wake up and do something NOW or vigilantes are going to be the order of the day like the "WILD WILD WEST" !

Gun violence is not a political issue ............ it is a personal (lack of self-discipline) issue. The gangs, guns&drugs trade must be snuffed out if this country is going to "have a shot" at rebounding from its decades long economic and social slide ...... We had better take stock of examples of Zimbabwe, Puerto Rico,Singapore and Costa Rica and learn from their mistakes, reforms and governance and take stock of how to build a thriving society ......... and not squander our national birthright for the next generations to end up living in Haiti 2.0.

Sheeprunner, I tend to agree with you. Every day I drive somewhere, seems that I am the only person on the road obeying the speed limit. Sometimes I feel like staying home for the whole month of December. Many years ago I noticed that Bahamians HATE to be broke around Christmas time. Seems that all our parliamentarians do is rowing out one another instead of seriously trying to solve the many problems we have..

As a letter of comfort there has been more mass killings (311) than there has been killings in the Bahamas. In fact that number is more than doubled., And in ninety eight percent of the instances or more, the mass murderers were not black. None were Bahamians.

We got another comforting statistic from Marvin Dames, while murders are up, attempted murders are down
