A 35-year-old man was arraigned in a Magistrate’s Court over allegations that he was found in possession of nearly 100 rounds of assorted ammunition.

Hugh Tai, of Rum Cay Drive, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney faced with two counts of possession of ammunition with intent to supply and one count of possession of a component of a firearm.

It is alleged that on October 9 at New Providence, and being concerned with others, Tai was found in possession of 60 unfired rounds of 7.62 ammunition.

It is also alleged that on that same day while at New Providence, and concerned with others, he was also found with 31 unfired rounds of .223 ammunition.

It was further alleged that on the day in question, and being concerned with others, Tai was found with one gray .223 mm magazine.

Tai pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The matter was adjourned to November 23 for trial.

He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDCS) until that time.
