Bar to disabled

EDITOR, The Tribune.

On Wednesday, 26th October, I drove to Clico Bahamas in Talbot Street to pick up a cheque as part of the settlement with Clico on an annuity which I have with them.

When I arrived, I was denied entry to the car park adjacent to the building even though I have a disabled sticker on my car and I am permanently in a wheelchair. I was directed by the two ladies outside the building (who were seated at a table blocking the disabled section of the car park) to park across the street and make my way through the traffic in my wheelchair, which I refused to do. I was not allowed to drive inside the car park so I parked outside the front gates. I ultimately received my cheque from staff inside the building, who were extremely helpful and courteous, but would appreciate an explanation as to why Clico has a cast iron policy of denying entry to vehicles with disabled stickers and persons who obviously have problems with their mobility.
