Aliv's top promoter departs company

ALIV yesterday announced its chief promoter has stepped down to be replaced by Bahamian talent as its leadership structure further evolves.

Johnny Ingle, who has led the mobile start-up's marketing efforts in his role as chief Aliv champion from inception will be replaced by Gravette Brown as the operator's chief commercial officer. It has also appointed Patrice Thompson as its general manager for New Providence, with both posts taking immediate effect.

Damian Blackburn, Aliv's top executive, said: "I hope you will join me in congratulating Gravette and Patrice in their new roles, and I commend both of them on their outstanding performances so far at Aliv.

"I wish them the best of luck in their new roles. It is very sad for us to say goodbye to Johnny Ingle, who has given his heart and soul to building this brand, but it is a testament to the strength of our senior team to be able to evolve our leadership by promoting both Gravette and Patrice to lead this next phase of our journey."

Ms Brown will have responsibility for Aliv's customer initiatives. This includes all products, pricing, promotions, brand and business development (including partnerships and innovative solutions for consumers), and development and implementation of marketing and communications plans.

She has worked with Aliv since its creation, leading the mobile operator's launch financing and planning projects; playing a key role in developing its core commercial platform; and shaping its SMART phone solution.

Prior to joining Aliv, Ms Brown held positions in the private equity, financial operation, social enterprise and manufacturing and service industries.

Meanwhile, Ms Thompson's appointment builds on Aliv's strategy of appointing general managers for specific regions throughout the Bahamas.

She will be responsible for customer operations on New Providence as well as the overall Aliv experience, and will focus on customer and employee experience, plus driving high performance results.

Ms Thompson has been with Aliv since inception as team director, leading efforts to recruit, develop and coach its 200-strong workforce.
