The officers and members of Macedonia Baptist Church will celebrate the sixth pastoral anniversary of the Rev Hartman and Minister Laverne Nixon on Sunday at the Church on Bernard Road, Fox Hill.
Rev Nixon is the third pastor of the church, having succeeded the late Rev Dr David Samuel Johnson. The church's initial pastor was the late Rev John L Nixon.
A special service of celebrations was held on Monday night where the speaker was Bishop Aaron Nixon.
Another special service will be held on Friday night at 7.30 pm at the church where the guest speaker will be the Rev Lockwood Deleveaux of Hillside Missionary Baptist Church.
The anniversary service will be held on Sunday at 1 am.
The guest speaker will be Bishop Stanley Ferguson, pastor of the Free Community Baptist Church.
The theme for the occasion is, "A Servant with a Passion for Souls," taken from II Timothy 4: 1-3 and 1 Corinthians 15: 58.
