A 34-year-old Jamaican national has been charged with a drug seizure at Grand Bahama International Airport earlier this week.

Clifton Garth Tomlinson stood before Magistrate Subsola Swain faced with one count each of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply and taking preparatory steps to export dangerous drugs.

According to police, Tomlinson was preparing to travel through the airport when he was caught with two pounds of suspected cocaine.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and the matter was adjourned to November 20 for trial.

Tomlinson was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services in the interim.

He has the right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
