Pulse Boys and Girls clubs in spotlight

The PULSE Boys and Girls community mentorship programme is offered free every Wednesday at Salem Union Baptist Church, Taylor street, with instructor Elnathan Corey Rolle (far right), better known as DJ Counselor.

PULSE Boys and Girls Club, a community mentorship programme that caters to youth in Bain and Grants Town, Englerston and East Street, recently performed very well at the Space Coast Karate League in Orlando, Florida.

The results of the tournament are as follows:

1) Trevon Taylor 1st Kata, 2nd Fighting

2) Omar Woodside 2nd Kata, 3rd Fighting

3) Josh Woodside 3nd Kata, 1st Flighting

4) Micheal Prechard 1st in Kata, 1st intermediate Fighting, 2nd in Advance fighting

5) Elnathan Rolle 2nd in Kata

"It was great to see our students do well internationally, it proves once the opportunity is provided the sky is the limit for our Bahamian Youth," the organisation said in a press release.

"Our students have been doing well in both traditional and sport tournaments, and the programme is continuing to do well with curving many at risk youth in our inner city."

The programme is offered free as a community programme every Wednesday at Salem Union Baptist Church, Taylor street, with instructor Elnathan Corey Rolle.
