Juniors represent Bahamas in Lil Mo tennis tourney

A CONTINGENT of young tennis juniors from the Bahamas represented the island nation at the Lil Mo International tennis competition in Florida.

The girls were Briana Houlgrave, Marlee Martin, Millie Beukes, BreAnn Ferguson, Kaylee Kanuka and Jasmine Sarah Thompson.

The boys in competition were Zamere Davis, Patrick Mactaggart, Brody Knowles, Jackson Mactaggart, Khai Rees, Michael Major Jr and Clint Newry.

The competition boasted over 450 players from 40 countries.

“This is a great opportunity for the Bahamian players to test their skills against players from around the world. Players play singles, doubles and mixed doubles,” said a press release.

The event was held at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens November 30 to December 5. “Little Mo International is open to players worldwide. These tournaments are designed to provide good competition whilst fostering new friendships and sportsmanship. Players are able to gauge their tennis ability against players of the same age,” said the release.

“The BLTA wishes these young tennis players great success in this competition.”
