Insurance Commission names Conduct chief

THE Insurance Commission of the Bahamas has named Tamika S. Dean as manager of intermediaries and its Market Conduct unit.

Mrs Dean has more than 15 years in combined insurance industry and regulatory experience, having previously served as analyst/relationship manager in the supervision department since joining the Commission in July 2011.Her new responsibilities will include oversight over the conduct of insurance intermediaries within the market, and ensuring full compliance with prudential, regulatory and legislative requirements.

Mrs Dean holds a Bachelor's Degree in Banking and Finance - Private Trust from the University of the Bahamas, a Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London, and is an associate of the Bahamas Institute of Financial Services (BIFS). She serves as a member of the Commission's consumer education committee, and the planning committee for the Bahamas Insurance Association's (BIA) Insurance Month activities. She has also worked on numerous projects including the recent creation and implementation of the Commission's electronic quarterly online reporting application.
